Cultivating entrepreneurial mindsets in youth.

#2

A recent study in 2015 found Columbus, OH to be the second-most segregated major metropolitan area in the United States. Despite the recent outburst of startups and development in Columbus, a significant portion of our city continues to be left behind.

Our Mission

To help cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset in Columbus's underserved youth through networking and mentorship.

Through our introductory entrepreneurship lessons and direct mentorship from local Columbus entrepreneurs, we connect underserved youth with the resources and knowledge to better understand and enter the Columbus startup landscape.

At the start of the program, students are introduced to the basics of entrepreneurship. Covering topics ranging from developing business ideas to customer validation to understanding business plans, our "basics" create a simple, baseline understanding of a business.

The next couple of weeks are filled with weekly speakers featuring prominent Columbus entrepreneurs and business developers. Students are given the opportunity to ask questions and listen to first-hand experiences from Columbus entrepreneurs.

Coming in Spring 2020, students will have the opportunity to submit a business plan and pitch at the first ever inter-scholastic pitch competition, judged by members of the Columbus startup community. Winners will have the opportunity to gain funding and potential mentorship in launching their businesses.
